Liz O’Mahony – Childcare Manager

Liz is the Childcare Manager in Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre CLG, where she has been working for over 20 years, contributing to the promotion, creation, and maintenance of a welcoming, safe, caring, stable and supportive environment for all the children in our care.

Liz holds certificates in Childcare Studies and Social Studies from University College Cork UCC). In 2021 she completed a Certificate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in ‘Trauma Informed Care with Children and Families” from University College Cork (UCC), in addition to attending numerous training programs to support her work with children, including Restorative Practice, Safe Talk, Assist and Understanding Self Harm as well as Strengthening Families.

Liz has more than 28 years’ experience in voluntary and paid capacity in Carrigtwohill and surrounding areas. She is a long-standing member of The St. Bridget and St. Anne’s SVP Conference in Carrigtwohill, supporting families and individuals in need.

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
