There are two Preschool rooms in operation in the Resource Centre, both running two sessions per day, a morning session from 8.45 am – 11.45 am and an afternoon session from 12.30 pm – 3.30 pm. The room names are the Cheeky Chimps and the Tiny Tigers.

This means we can cater for up to 64 preschool aged children per day. Children may start with us from the ages of 2.8 months up to 5 years. We promote the holistic development of the children in our care – we form an important bond with them and their families. We work closely with the surrounding national schools to ensure the transition to “big school” is made as easy as possible for the children.

As this is a Family Resource Centre, the Preschool staff are there to support the family as a whole, and link in with relevant services should they need them. We cater for many children from diverse backgrounds. Our Curriculum is the National Preschool which is Aistear, this is a child lead curriculum, built around Siolta standards. We have weekly music and movement, drama and child focused meditation. Our Curriculum promotes learning through doing, so we encourage independence for their journey to national school. Staff members are highly qualified, experienced and we operate under best practice, which means a large number of staff to child ratio. We run Better Start and Smart Start programmes which promotes healthy eating, physical fitness and positive mental health. We link in with many government national campaigns, i.e. Down Syndrome Ireland and the RSA. road safety authority campaign.
Staff are always available to chat to current or new families wishing to avail of the service.

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
