Sheila Flanagan

Since July 2023, Sheila is our full-time family support practitioner and as a parent to three adult children she understands and appreciates the day to day joy but also the challenges that are experienced by families’ today.
Sheila has a degree in Community, Youth and Family, is a ‘Parenting under Pressure’ therapist and a Parents Plus facilitor. She has also completed training in Infant Mental Health, trauma informed care, non-violent resistance and mediation.
Sheila has previously worked within the health care and early year’s sectors and, prior to assuming her current position in Carrigtwohill FRC, worked for a number of years in a similar family support role.

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
