Carol O Hanlon square

Carol is our Mental Health and Family Support Team Lead in Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre CLG having worked previously as a Family Support worker since 2021. She has more than 20 years’ experience in youth and community.

Carol holds a Degree in Youth and Community from University College Cork (UCC) and a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy. In 2021 she completed a Certificate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in ‘Trauma Informed Care with Children and Families” from University College Cork (UCC), in addition to completing many training programs such as Parenting Under Pressure (PUP), Non Violent Resistance (NVR) to support her work with families and young people.

Carol was on the Regional Board of the Irish Foster Carers Association (IFCA) and was Secretary of the local Board for many years and is a parent mentor with Le Cheile. Carol is a mother to six children and grandmother.

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
