Services / Counselling and Psychotherapy

Our Counselling and Psychotherapy service provides one to one support for anyone who wishes to avail of this service. Counselling can be an invaluable support when there is difficulty, a crises or past issues that are affecting one’s emotional and/or physical well-being. It gives individuals a safe space to talk openly without judgement and explore life’s challenges. Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre has a number of qualified and student Counsellors. The counselling service is low-cost to remove barriers of participation.

If you would like to make an appointment for Counselling our Mental Health & Family support Team Lead Carol O’Hanlon is the contact person who can then make the referral and match the client to a counsellor.

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
