Welcome to Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre

Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre opened its doors on the 5th of November 1991 under the local St. Vincent de Paul. The FRC’s development arose initially from the experiences of Conference members carrying out home visitation and requests for financial and material aid and the additional needs that staff became aware of through the positive relationships they built with those using the service. St Brigid & St Anne Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul worked from the ideology of:

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for the rest of his life

– Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie (1885).

Mission Statement

The mission of the organisation is to work for social justice by working in solidarity with those who are marginalised to promote self-sufficiency and to break the cycle of poverty. We aim to do this through early intervention and preventative work which is at the core of all our services.

This ethos is based on the principle of providing an accessible community-based service for all who are experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives with particular emphasis on children and families.
